Forever Expanding Awareness in Liberation (FEAL)

Unraveling The Story

This article is a continuation of "The Stories We Tell", in which I explore my experience with how the ego-mind is constantly telling stories and these stories have one of two themes. They are either loving stories or fear/hate stories.

Once I recognised that I was telling stories about everything within my experience and everything that I perceive, and that how I perceive all things—the world around me—is based on the stories I tell, the next step was to unravel these stories. Each story has a message, but I have to read between the lines to get the message. The message is NEVER spoken directly. Everything is this world is back-to-front. Everything is symbolic. Each story is telling me something, but not what it appears to be telling me. It's like a symbolic metaphor, or like a parable. Every story I am telling and hearing (which is still me telling it) is a parable—a parable, like all parables, devised to show me how, where, and why I am forgetting my Divinity.

Unraveling the stories is a return to Divinity. Once centred in Divinity I start to tell and hear only Divine stories of Love. Such is the blessing of Unraveling the stories, and such is the reason why everything is happening FOR ME and not TO ME. So how are these stories unraveled?

I invite you to start looking at what stories you are telling. I invite you to observe and be aware of what stories you verbalise to others. I invite you to observe and be aware of the stories you tell yourself internally. Don't cut these stories off. No, please don't try and do that at this stage. Don't suppress them. Rather just continue to let these outer and inner dialogs play out but take a step back from the story being told. Take a step back and be aware of the story. Once you become aware of the stories you are telling yourself inwardly and telling others outwardly then you will cease to experience yourself IN the story. With awareness you will see the story and you will see yourself telling the story as opposed to being in the story.

Once you experience yourself telling the story and no longer experience yourself being within the story then you will find yourself in a very different place. From this place you, through further and sustained awareness, will be able to look at exactly what story you are telling yourself and then you will be able to stop telling the stories that don't result in you being filled with Peace (peaceful). That will probably mean you give up 99.99% of all the stories you have been telling and hearing.

Remember, you can only hear those stories that you yourself are willing to tell. You can determine what stories you are willing to tell—and most likely are telling yourself inwardly—by taking a look at the stories you appear to be hearing from other people, and from the world around you. If you hear someone say "I hate you" and you then also hear internally the extension of that story, namely "this person hates me and is rejecting me and attacking me", then you can be certain that you are telling this story all the time to yourself. Again, this event has happened FOR YOU and not TO YOU. It doesn't matter what comes out of this other person's mouth. What you hear depends entirely on the story you are telling yourself. Is it a love story or a hate story?

An example of this process might look something like this.
Joe appears to come up and say, "I hate you, you're ugly and you stink".
If that is what I internally hear Joe say then this is indicative that I am telling myself some sort of story along those lines. It might not be that I tell myself "I stink". Rather it's about the story of hate and fear in general, which is always told by the ego-mind.
If this is the case then step back. The inner story might have said, "Joe hates me, he rejects me and what's more, he thinks I stink (gosh, do I really smell that bad, I better take a shower). This bastard hates me. How dare he say these things..... etc etc".

Turn that story around.

"I hate myself. I think I am ugly and I think I stink (i.e. I think I am unacceptable, I don't accept myself)."

Hmm... how does that feel?

Go into how it feels. Allow yourself to feel how it feels, but take Joe 100% out of the picture. He does not exist and never did exist. That is the truth. So pleaes, REMOVE HIM COMPLETELY. Remove the perceived 'other'. There is only you and healing will ONLY truly take place when it is approached from this perspective, for healing is about coming into wholeness and ONLY this perpective is Whole. This is the Nature of Healing. Joe—the world, or 'the other'—was simply part of Your story being told FOR YOU and not TO YOU. Go into those feelings. You will quite likely find that these feelings are stories that have been playing over and over again and were always there.

Remember, Joe (the world) can not do anything to you—for Joe does not exist. Therefore whatever you are feeling has arisen 100% from within yourself. It was already there. You might not have been aware of it until now, but that's why this apparent event has happened FOR YOU—so that you could be aware of what you're carrying around inside and constantly puking out on to the world all the time and without even knowing it.

In allowing and exploring these feelings fully—namely without holding on to the image of Joe and hence making the feelings about YOU and not about Him—you will become aware of the moment where you first started choosing to tell this story. You will see that nature of that and see how pointless it is to keep telling this story now. This is where you can then choose to forgive all the roles that revolved around this story from the Alpha (where it first started) to the Omega (the last point where it appeared to be told, with Joe). MU is between the Alpha and the Omega. It is Now, between the beginning and the end. MU sounds a lot like YOU, and this is what defines your experience of You. The story you tell around the Alpha and the Omega will determine MU (Now, You).

The act of forgiving is the act of rewriting the story with how God's Vision sees things. In God's vision Joe does not exist. In God's Vision hatred does not exist. In God's Vision NONE of this ever happened and hence there is not subject around which to form a story. In God's Vision there is ONLY LOVE and hence that is all these is to form a story around. This is all part of Changing the Dream.

In love,

Jonathan
