Forever Expanding Awareness in Liberation (FEAL)

Unraveling the Ego-Mind

The journey toward Waking up—living the way of Forever Expanding Awareness in Liberation—in essentially about unraveling who and what you think you are. Elsewhere—perhaps it's on this site—I have mentioned that 'Enlightenment' is a journey of 'Release' or 'Letting go'.

What is it we are letting go of?

In my experience it is about letting go of all the false ideas, beliefs, concepts and perceptions I have. Most of these things are not personal and are not unique to 'me'. Rather, most of them are a generic part of the Human experience. They are floating around in the collective 'out there'—well, actually they are 'in here'. There may be some that are fairly specific to 'me', although again it is unlikely because all false perceptions and beliefs ultimately come down to the one universally accepted belief that 'it is possible for something to be separate from God'.

"I am separate from God"
"The world is separate from God"
"Hell is separate from God".
Name your illusion...

In the false perception that there is some-thing other than God in existence we also end up with the false belief that there is a power other than God taking effect within Creation. This is wholly untrue. Yet the degree to which we believe this is the degree to which we—as extensions of God—give false power to the illusion we are individually and collectively projecting out into the screen of our mind. This 'screen', by the way, is the field of vision we believe we are looking at when we look 'out' into the world, the universe, even other dimensions, realms and time-space locations.

Like God, you and I have the (God-given) power to create. Within the illusion that we are projecting into our experience we create the apparent reality there 'things' out there have power over us. Hence we create the illusion that there is more than one power affecting our experience. This is false, as far as God is concerned—and God actually doesn't really give it any thought or concern—but seems oh so real as far as our experience of Life and Creation is concerned.

Most paths in this world are about trying to improve our circumstances and the events in our lives. Yet here we are simply shuffling around the false, nonexistent, building blocks of the illusion we are experiencing. This applies to all materialistic 'paths' and also most 'spiritual paths'. In following these 'paths' we simply replace one set of false beliefs and perceptions for another set of—apparently 'better;—beliefs and perceptions. The ego-mind loves this sort of madness because so long as we are living in the realm of beliefs then we will not unravel the illusion and the false sense of self that the ego-mind is dependant on for it's apparent existence.

Whilst unraveling the ego-mind it is important not to negate the illusion nor to ignore what it appears to present to us within our experience. It is vital to deny that it has any power. It is vital to deny that it has any basis of reality to it. Yet it is also vital to fully realise that it is a product of your own creation. Like the dreams you have at night, they are very often symbolic in nature. You know they are 'not real' yet they very often carry a deep symbology that can be of great use to He or She who is aware of the symbols being presented—by your own unconscious mind whilst you sleep.

The relationship between our daily waking state and our dream state at night is s not that dissimilar—in fact it's pretty much the same—to the relationship between our Enlightened state of Being and our unconscious state of being as manifest through our human experience and apparent existence. What we experience as our daily life is the sleepy dream of our Enlightened state of Being. Everything that takes place in our daily life is symbolic and should not been taken literally by those that wish to wake up. Again, that does not mean that we ignore what appears to be happening around us, but simply that we do not invest ourselves into it and make it so real that it takes on an apparent 'power' of it's own. God is the one and only power.

How do we wake-up from this dream? How do we unravel the illusion we are projecting into our experience?

First and foremost in my experience it is vital to cultivate and give time—within the illusion of time we appear to exist within—to Being in Awareness. With Awareness it is possible to start seeing things for what they are. With Awareness we can also start to see what energy we invest into things. We can see how we invest ourselves into this illusion. The easiest way to become aware of this is to simply be Aware of how the events that manifest in your experience effect the way you feel inside. Whenever you experience anything other than peace and deep stillness—which doesn't exclude there being activity on the surface—you can be sure that you are investing your Self into the illusion that has just symbolically been projected out into your perception. With Awareness and discernment and intelligence—which anyone reading this most certainly has—it is possible to 'decipher' what the symbols are 'telling us'.

It will become apparent, I am sure, that underlying every false investment of your energy into the illusion you will discover that there is guilt, fear, a belief in separation, and judgment in some form or another. The way out is to allow yourself to FEEL (or FEAL) these things—which requires first and foremost dropping the judgment that will be there—

What we judge we separate from.
What we separate from we can not be truly aware of.
What we are not truly Aware of we can not forgive and release and reclaim our energy from.

With judgment aside it is possible to fully FEAL what it is that is coming up within your experience of your body and state of Being. Again, don't invest energy into it. Don't empower it. Simply allow it to surface—without judging it. If you remain Aware and hence non-reactive it will now be possible to actively forgive the situation apparently 'out there' in your 'worldly experience' and also the situation 'in here' within your interpersonal space—within your mind. It's actually all within the Mind and as you start to forgive you will increasingly become aware of this fact.

Forgiveness is ultimately about deeply realising and acknowledging (acting on knowledge) that what you 'thought' had happened 'out there' and 'in here' never actually happened at all. It was simply a projection of your ego-mind onto the screen before your eyes and the screen of your emotional world apparently within you.

It is through Awareness and the application of Forgiveness that the ego-mind unravels. The layers will peel off like the layers on an onion. Yep, it's likely it will even make you cry like an onion—and just as there is no traumatic emotional upset when an onion makes you cry there will not necessarily be any of that when the ego-mind layers peel off. If there is then that simply means there is more for you to be aware of and to forgive and release.

Remember you are not forgiving and releasing something that is real or has any power whatsoever. You are simply unraveling the illusion that is raveled up within you. It appeared real when you raveled it up and it may appear to be real when you unravel it—but your Awareness will show you that this is simply not reality.

It is possible, by the Grace of God and the Christ Mind, for the illusion to be unraveled without having to experientially go through it all. What I am saying here is that Karma or Sin is also a part of the illusion of the ego-mind. Through the Christ Mind or the Grace of God it is possible for this Karma / Sin to simply be revealed for what it is—an absence of Truth, an absense of Light. This would be a bit like walking into a long maze (the illusion) and getting lost in there somewhere. The standard process of 'unraveling the illusion' involves rising up above the walls of the maze and seeing where you are located relative to everything else. Then you would walk your way back out of the maze with the help afforded to you by this 'higher' Awareness.

The effect of Grace or the influence of Christ in this metaphorical situation would be likened to being completely picked up from out of the maze and placed outside of it—or perhaps very near to the entrance/exit.

This is not something you can induce from within the maze. It is not something you can induce from within the illusion of the ego-mind. Through Awareness it is possible to re-establish your relationship with God and the I AM (Christ Mind). The nature of that is that you will become—through surrendering to God's Will—a conduit for God within the illusion. It's then quite certain that Grace will start to works it's way into your experience of Life. The more you give and receive God's Love in this world, the more you will be a vehicle for God's Grace in the apparent experience of others and hence the more Grace will become active in your own apparent experience of Life.

I trust that you will re-cognise what you have just read and that it might be of some service to your path of unraveling the ego-mind.

With love and blessings,

Jonathan Evatt
