Forever Expanding Awareness in Liberation (FEAL)

Castles in the Sand

We are like blind men,
Clutching onto lumps of lead,
Believing solemnly,
Wholeheartedly
That it is gold.

We are like men with eyes to see,
Chained looking at mere shadows on the walls,
Believing solemnly,
Wholeheartedly,
That this is the full reality here to behold

We are like Kings, without saneness of mind,
Ruling and fighting over, protecting from the oncoming sea,
Mere castles in the sand.
Believing solemnly,
Wholeheartedly,
That we are wealthy, elite, and deeply understand.

We are like birds in the sky,
Migrating from season to season,
Far across land and over sea.
Gracefully going nowhere,
Cyclical, robot-like,
From first breath, until death.
Believing solemnly,
Wholeheartedly,
That to fly high in this world,
We are somehow "free".

Yet, my friend, freedom's price
Appears so great,
So painstaking,
—Although really it is so small—
We do all manner of deluded things,
To avoid the simple realisation,
That from Heaven we never did fall.
